The Great Tribulation
- “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.” Matthew 24:21 NKJV
-
- “Alas! For that day is great, So that none is like it; And it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, But he shall be saved out of it.”Jeremiah 30:7 NKJV
- “At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. Daniel 12:1 NKJV
- Purpose of the Great Tribulation Period
-
- He will complete His discipline of the nation of Israel. Daniel 9:24
- He will judge the unbelieving and ungodly of the earth. Revelation 6
- How long is it?
-
- 7 years of tribulation confirmed covenant
-
- 3 ½ years could be considered great
- Daniel 9:27 then he shall confirm a covenant with Many for one week, but in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering
- Revelation 13:5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for 42 months.
- What will it be like?
-
- “But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.” I Thessalonians 5:1-3 NKJV
- The Day of the Lord is the same time period as the tribulation period. It is the time of Gods wrath
-
- “I will utterly consume everything From the face of the land,” Says the Lord; “I will consume man and beast; I will consume the birds of the heavens, The fish of the sea, And the stumbling blocks along with the wicked. I will cut off man from the face of the land,” Says the Lord.”Zephaniah 1:2-3 NKJV
- “The great day of the Lord is near; It is near and hastens quickly. The noise of the day of the Lord is bitter; There the mighty men shall cry out. That day is a day of wrath, A day of trouble and distress, A day of devastation and desolation, A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness, A day of trumpet and alarm Against the fortified cities And against the high towers. “I will bring distress upon men, And they shall walk like blind men, Because they have sinned against the Lord; Their blood shall be poured out like dust, And their flesh like refuse.” Neither their silver nor their gold Shall be able to deliver them In the day of the Lord’s wrath; But the whole land shall be devoured By the fire of His jealousy, For He will make speedy riddance Of all those who dwell in the land.” Zephaniah 1:14-18 NKJV
- Joel 2:1-11 says the same
- Revelation 6-16
-
- 7 Seal Judgments
- 7 Trumpet Judgments
- 7 Bowl Judgments
- Euphrates dried up at 6th bowl judgment
-
-
- Even though we see it dried up now most likely doesn’t coincide with time line so there must be another time in future
6. Does mark do the beast exist?
-
- No because the context of the scripture does not support that argument
- “And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Revelation 13:14-17 NKJV
7. Who will escape?
-
- “For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night. But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.” I Thessalonians 5:2-11 NKJV
- Church of Philadelphia Jesus says
- “Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” Revelation 3:10 NKJV
