Lucifer’s Deception

  1. For anyone of us in this place, it is nothing short of a miracle that we are no longer under the control of and bound into the devil’s web of lies.
    1. All of humanity, at one time or another, was under the control of satan
    2. 2 Corinthians 4:4. Satan is the god of this world.
    3. Humanity in and of itself cannot set themselves free.
    4. Deceive, mislead, delude, beguile, means to lead astray or frustrate usually by underhandedness. Deceive implies imposing a false idea or belief that causes ignorance, bewilderment, or helplessnes.
  1. Jesus came to set us free from the prison of deception and the lies of the devil.
    1. John 14:6. I am the way, the truth, and the life!
    2. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” I John‬ ‭3‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬‬‬‬
  1. Humanity has been blinded and cannot see the truth.
    1. 2 Corinthians 4:4 – Satan has blinded the minds of those who do not believe.
    2. Symptoms of being blinded!
    3. You assume there is no God or you assume that your good deeds will prompt God to accept you.
      1. You assume you are not on the road to hell although you refuse to trust Jesus for the forgiveness of sins.
      2. Refusal to believe in the resurrection of Jesus
      3. You assume your good deeds can make up for your bad deeds.
      4. You fail to believe that the blood of Jesus can only wash away your sins.
      5. You take the coronavirus warnings more seriously than Jesus’ warnings, that unless you repent, you will spend eternity in hell.
  1. Repentance is the door
    1. “There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” Luke‬ ‭13‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬‬‬‬‬
    2. Jesus sets us free from Satan’s deception
