Ignoring the Holy Spirit
God has given us His precious Holy Spirit to be with us and bring into our heavenly home. Holy Spirit is to be honored and never ignored. Subtle advances from the enemy destroys the life of the branches as the enemy desires to get us separated from the vine
“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” I Corinthians 3:16
“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”Romans 5:5
“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God.” I Corinthians 2:12
“who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.” II Corinthians 1:22
Holy Spirit is in you to guide you in the culture of heaven and to bring you to your eternal dwelling
“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; John 6:13
Many ignore the Spirit within them and do not give Him the proper honor
Ignore-to refuse to pay attention to: to be ignorant of or not be acquainted with
“Yes, they made their hearts like flint, refusing to hear the law and the words which the Lord of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets. Thus great wrath came from the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 7:12
Ignore is to rebel against the Spirit
Rebel-reject or resist or ride to arms against one’s government
A rebel- one who does not like rules or authority and shows this by behaving differently from society
A person opposed to a political system in their country
We are called to proclaim Gods culture on earth through His Spirit
God a jealous God
“Take heed to yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of the Lord your God which He made with you, and make for yourselves a carved image in the form of anything which the Lord your God has forbidden you. For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.” Deuteronomy 4:23-24
“You shall fear the Lord your God and serve Him, and shall take oaths in His name. You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are all around you (for the Lord your God is a jealous God among you), lest the anger of the Lord your God be aroused against you and destroy you from the face of the earth.” Deuteronomy 6:13-15
“But Joshua said to the people, “You cannot serve the Lord, for He is a holy God. He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, then He will turn and do you harm and consume you, after He has done you good.” Joshua 24:19-20
Consequences of ignoring the Holy Spirit
“But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit; So He turned Himself against them as an enemy, And He fought against them.” Isaiah 63:10
Christians can grieve! “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” Ephesians 4:30
“Do not quench the Spirit.” I Thessalonians 5:19
“Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?” Hebrews 10:29
LED by the Indwelling Spirit
“Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness.” Psalms 143:10
Matt 4:1 Jesus led by the Spirit into the wilderness
“And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law,” Luke 2:25-27
“Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.” Acts 8:29
“While Peter thought about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are seeking you. Arise therefore, go down and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them.” Acts 10:19-20

“And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there, except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me.” Acts 20:22-23
