”And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.”II Corinthians 6:16 NKJV
God in us! We must have reverence for the ark! God wants to sit down among Us. We must be preparing for such a visitation
Gods talked to us about Him dwelling in us and walking among us
Sunday night get the leaven out in preparation
Wed night He talked to us about a pool to be healed of our infirmity
Preparing for the ark!
2 Chronicles 5 bringing the ark to its place
2 Chronicles 7 priest could not perform because of the glory
Utmost respect for the ark and order was necessary
Before we look at Moses introducing the ark to Israel let’s look at Gods divine order
Genesis 3 God speaks to the man about the ordinance and necessity for following his will. Man then required to teach it to his wife.
Devil came and tempted eve it does not say the husband was there
Wife was expected to receive the Instruction from another and discern that it was from God and run with it
”Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?Genesis 3:1 NKJV
Satan attacked the credibility of her husband and she not only doubted Gods word but even that possibly her husband got it wrong
When we hear the Word of God and it bears witness the devil will then try to attack that Word and attack the character of the messenger.
If God speaks to you the devil will attack your personal integrity
If God speaks thru your husband the devil will attack your perception of him you will only see his flaws
If God speaks thru a Pastor the devil will magnify his humanity and therefore dull the authority of the Word of God!
Now Moses received a word from God and the purpose was to lead a people to Gods best
LED into wilderness. God showed miracles the people knew that Moses was sent by God because he had testimony yet still complained
”Then the whole congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness.“Exodus 16:2 NKJV
”Also Moses said, “This shall be seen when the Lord gives you meat to eat in the evening, and in the morning bread to the full; for the Lord hears your complaints which you make against Him. And what are we? Your complaints are not against us but against the Lord.”Exodus 16:8 NKJV
”Then all the congregation of the children of Israel set out on their journey from the Wilderness of Sin, according to the commandment of the Lord, and camped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink. Therefore the people contended with Moses, and said, “Give us water, that we may drink.” So Moses said to them, “Why do you contend with me? Why do you tempt the Lord?” And the people thirsted there for water, and the people complained against Moses, and said, “Why is it you have brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?”. Exodus 17:1-3 NKJV
Moses word is being questioned as Adams. Did God really say?
How about Moses word as he led them through wilderness
Thank God they had no GPS
Aaron-”Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aaron, and said to him, “Come, make us gods that shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.” And Aaron said to them, “Break off the golden earrings which are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them to me.” So all the people broke off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them to Aaron. And he received the gold from their hand, and he fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made a molded calf. Then they said, “This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!”Exodus 32:1-4 NKJV
”Now when Moses saw that the people were unrestrained (for Aaron had not restrained them, to their shame among their enemies),“Exodus 32:25 NKJV
The word of God was challenged
”Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married; for he had married an Ethiopian woman. So they said, “Has the Lord indeed spoken only through Moses? Has He not spoken through us also?” And the Lord heard it.“. Numbers 12:1-2 NKJV
Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel; from each tribe of their fathers you shall send a man, every one a leader among them.” So Moses sent them from the Wilderness of Paran according to the command of the Lord, all of them men who were heads of the children of Israel.“Numbers 13:2-3 NKJV
”So all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people wept that night. And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, “If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness!“. Numbers 14:1-2 NKJV
”Now Korah the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with Dathan and Abiram the sons of Eliab, and On the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men; and they rose up before Moses with some of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty leaders of the congregation, representatives of the congregation, men of renown.“Numbers 16:1-2 NKJV
It’s all about the ark and God leading and we follow. The devil wants us to question God order and rebel against instruction.
We must be people of the spirit
JOSHUA- had to trust their leaders word from God as they were given instructions about Jericho
Walk around the city seven times
Gideon- told 22k to leave and then thousands more and left with 300.
300 had to BELIEVE the word
David’s men had to trust David’s direction
Prophet told Jehoshaphat-”You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”. II Chronicles 20:17 NKJV
”So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.”II Chronicles 20:20 NKJV
If we are to build Him a place to dwell there is etiquette. There is holiness. The ark must be treated with reverence
Even in this house! As we await and flow after Him
